FREE PARKING
Access to the site is made easy by a large free car park at the entrance to the village of Lastours.
Dedicated spaces are reserved for motorhomes and tour coaches, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the ticket office.
GETTING THERE ON FOOT
From the parking area, a pleasant, fully signposted footpath leads you straight to the site’s visitor centre. Allow 10 to 15 minutes of easy walking to start your experience.
HOW TO GET HERE
By car
From Carcassonne (~20 min): take the D118 towards Conques-sur-Orbiel / Mazamet, then follow the D101 to the village of Lastours.
From Toulouse (~1h15) or Montpellier (~1h30): take the A61 motorway, exit 23 Carcassonne-Ouest or exit 24 Carcassonne-Est, then follow signs for Mazamet / Lastours via the D118.
By bike
From Carcassonne or the Canal du Midi. Head north up the Orbiel valley on the D101 (via Conques-sur-Orbiel). Road type: shared road with light traffic through the Cabardès vineyards.
By train
Arrival station: Carcassonne station (TGV and TER trains).
To complete the journey from the station (~20 min):
Taxi / private hire: available outside Carcassonne station.
Bus / on-demand transport (TAD): the RTCA network (Carcassonne Agglo) serves the Cabardès area.
By bus
In season (summer): take Line L of the RTCA network from Carcassonne (direct to Lastours). Out of season: use line 404 (liO Occitanie) or the on-demand transport service (TAD 1140), booked the day before on +33 805 608 100.

By plane
Carcassonne-Sud de France Airport (~20 min): direct flights from several European cities. Car hire and taxis available outside the terminal.
Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (~1h15): many national and international connections, with quick access via the A61.
Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport (~1h30).
By taxi
